Visual Merchandising
Below is a mock business plan for a store I created called “Chic Comfort”. This process consisted of coming up with the different design elements, fixtures, a floor plan and merchandise categories to enhance the store's brand image. In addition, by doing this project I was able to familiarize myself with the software Visual Retailing, which is imperative to understand in the field of Visual Merchandising. By conceptualizing this business plan, I have gained knowledge on the importance of brand image and how visuals, the layout of a store, merchandise, and compelling window displays all take part in creating a cohesive look.

Environmental Stance
To take an environmental stance, I chose to implement the use of recycled clothing and the use of fixtures made from recycled materials. The store will have a donation center where customers can donate their old garments to ensure their long lasting life. Additionally, tote bags are the chosen packaging for the store to reduce plastic waste.
Design Elements & Store Vibe
Neutral colors for walls and flooring.
Eucalyptus diffused throughout the store.
Stress free music to enhance overall calm vibe.

To continue echoing the comforting vibe, I chose to create a very sleek, clean logo. In addition, to enhance the environmental plan of the business, I selected canvas tote bags.

To enhance that, we wanted to stick with neutral tones and very clean and simple fixtures. By doing so, our product will be able to stand out and additionally, it will be easy to find, meaning more product to sell. With the use of clean and simple fixtures, we will help create the calming shopping experience.

Simple lighting fixtures will be used around the store with a statement fixture above the cash wrap. Fitting rooms: Task Lighting, Sales floor: Ambient Lighting, Displays: Accent Lighting
